New blog to help you start saving in 2010
In 2009 I had a good friend introduce me to 'coupons' again. I hadn't thought much about them since the 80's when I used to cut them out for my parents regularly.
Like many others I thought coupons weren't worth my time since the savings only amounted to pocket change. I merely saw it as 25 cents here and 50 cents there. Boy was I wrong. During this past year we've saved thousands and our pantry and bathrooms are fully stocked. If this is pocket change then let me know where I sign up!
When I first started it took me longer than I anticipated because I never found a place where all the pertinent information was clearly spelled out. I had to take bits and pieces of information from several websites to understand how to save while balancing the time invested. There were also many bouts of unnecessary frustration because I didn't understand the ins and outs. Believe it or not there is a method to the madness.
During 2009 I tried emailing and texting friends and family to share just a handful of the opportunities I came across on a weekly basis. I wasn't very successful since the deals were so plentiful and they didn't know the basics.
For 2010, one of my new year's resolutions is to start a blog about savings opportunities and how you get started. I want to provide you with a fresh start and a clear understanding of saving smartly.
I hope you find this blog helpful in achieving your savings goals. Please feel free to provide feedback so I can give you exactly what you need.
Thanks!
